Just wondering if anyone has had any experience replacing the rear shock absorber? It looks pretty strait forward in the manual and I have at least half a brain and the neccessary tools.

Any reasons why I shouldnt do it myself or any points of wisdom from you seasoned veterans? Im pretty much pulling everything off the rear of the bike to replace plastics and fit lights if that helps.

Hi Jimmy,

To remove the rear shocker as I did last week, I found that I needed to remove the rear section of the exhaust. It is a bit crowded in there with the coolant overflow botle and oil black plastic box thingo.
I removed the suspension linkages, removed the upper shocker bolt and it slipped down and out easily.(once the muffler was gone ; that is)

I hope that helps. I have only had the DRZ a week and it seems robustly put together ( as most suzukis are= over engineered and heavy duty)
