Hi Guys, I'm about to do a Radiator flush and am wondering what type of coolant to use.

I have some TECTALOY 90 Plus here AS2108.2004.

33% Anti Freeze and contains ETHYLENE GLYCOL 369c/LITRE

Its a Premix.

I have a 2008 DRZ400e and was wandering if this coolant will be suitable.

Many Thanks in advance!!

yea mate that's fine. I have 3 bikes (all 400E) and run that and never had a problem. when you flush the bike, lean it over to water pump side (about 45 degrees) to make sure you get all the old coolant out when flushing, and all the water out before re-filling.

Cheers.

Thanks heaps Owey.. should I use it neat or dilute it... it says Pre-mixed on the bottle?

Cause it is 'pre-mixed' just use it straight from the bottle - DO NOT add any water.

1 other thing, after you have flushed and re-filled, leave your cap off and start the bike for about 5 mins. Top up the rad as it is running then put the cap on.

Cheers.

One other thing Owey, I had the mishap of running the radiator dry which caused an overheat. I got to it in time but the only thing available was Tap water to get me home... about 5 kms.

Should I flush with boiling water first or should it be ok, last thing I want is a calcium build up?

Cheers

Drain it, then flush for a good 5 mins. fill with coolant. Have a few rides on the bike (200 - 300kms) then do the same thing again. That coolant is only about $15 for a bottle. hope this helps.
