Hello people, I have had my drz since January this year and have been thinking of
Doing a motard setup for my bike, my question is will a set on conti trail attack 90/90/21" front
And 150/70/18" rear which both are tubeless tyres, will they fit standard drz rims and if they do what will I need to do to make this setup work???
Thanks

tubless tyre wont fly with spoke wheel.
contact simon at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for dedicated road wheels for the Drz, take 20 minutes to change over. Its like owning 2 bikes

Hi , you could just use some tubes ? problem solved . the rear tyre is probably a bit wide , I use the bridgestone trailwing 90/90/21 and 120/90 18 on the rear , they grip well on the road and are resonable in the dirt .

Hi Wayno...you should try dedicated road tyres, 150x17 battlaxe rear....120x17 dunlop radeen front is super sticky.

I now have lowering links on the rear, which balance the road wheel configeration out well.

you havnt lived until you lay the DRZ down in the corner, nearly scraping the tar with your elbow, heaps of power on. These bikes are so light and snappy they do a great job on the road.

I know my problem is solved...only take 20 mins and I have the dirt bike back to hit the quarry on weekends

But will tubeless tyres fit on the rim and will they work with a tube?

Yes i believe they will with a tube , the rear tyre is a little bit wide , a 120/70/18 would be better suited . blackmozz, i had a 400sm back in 2007 and yes it was great but sold it to get an E model because you can have the best of both worlds . I have a set of motard rims and a set of standard rims with the trailwings on them , and i dont think i go that much faster with the motards on.If i didnt get them as cheap as what i did i probably wouldnt have any , but they look good ..

Yes there the standard rims of a drz 400 sm , they use the same hubs and spaces so everything lines up and fits perfect , the only thing i did was put an E model front brake disc on so i dont have to go changing the caliper when i swap wheels ..And the speedo drive on a motard is geard slightly different to suit the 17 inch wheels .. cheers ...
